The blogpost about the personality, family tree,... of the six main characters in general is found here: http://bit.ly/FriendsGeneralMain

General happenings season 2:
The second season begins with Rachel waiting at the gate for Ross to declare her love for him. However, she discovers that he is dating Julie (Lauren Tom), someone he knew from graduate school. Rachel's attempts to tell Ross she likes him mirror his failed attempts in the first season, although the characters eventually begin a relationship. Joey gets cast in a part in a fictional version of the soap opera Days of Our Lives, but his character is killed off after conflicts with the show's writers, claiming that he writes many of his own lines. Chandler gets back with Janice, his ex-girlfriend from season one. Monica begins dating Richard (Tom Selleck), a recently divorced family friend and 21 years her senior. In the season finale, they end their relationship when they realize that unlike Monica, Richard does not want children.

The One With Russ - S2E10
Joey gets bad reviews for his latest play and decides to quit show business... until his agent gets him an audition for a soap opera. He finds out, however, that he'd have to sleep with the casting director to get the part. Monica starts dating Fun Bobby again; she notices he seems to have a drinking problem. She confronts him and he decides to quit, after which Monica notices he's no longer any fun. Rachel dates Russ, who bears a striking resemblence to Ross.

Joey: He got a terrible review about his play. He's been doing this ten years and got nowhere. He wants to quit acting. When he was little he wanted to be a veterinarian.
He gets an audition for Days Of Our Lives. But he has to sleep with the networkcasting lady (Laurie) to get the part (of course he does.). (After Denise DeMarco he promoted the little major to the little general.)
He tells her he doesn't want to sleep with her for a part. But after she offers him a bigger part, say hello to docter Drake Ramoray neurosurgeon for at least four episodes.

Chandler: He supports Joey in his acting dilemma (sleeping with Laurie or not). And he makes fun of the fact that Ross looks like Russ.

The One With Phoebe's Dad - S2E09
Ugly Naked Guy decorates his tree. Monica and Rachel, low on funds, make cookies to give instead of cash as holiday tips to the paperboy, the mailman, the superintendent, etc. Then they receive mangled papers and smashed packages; when their heater won't turn off and the super doesn't fix it, they fear he's also upset about not getting cash. Despite the heat, Rachel and Monica have a big Christmas party. Ross tries to make amends with Rachel. He tells her to make a list about him, so she does; he obsesses about her complaints. Phoebe discovers that everything she thought she knew about her biological father (including his picture) is a lie. Her grandmother knows where he lives, and it's not far. Phoebe (accompanied by Chandler and Joey) goes to visit him, but eventually decides she's not ready. Chandler and Joey have to do their Christmas shopping late on Christmas eve.

Joey: He tries to go to bed with the ex of his boss. He's just saying that to get the other's attention.
To everyone's amazement, he can fix the heating (but he doesn't realize it).

Chandler: Talks about his (drunk) father (sounding like he was Santa Claus, but it wasn't Christmas).

Ross: He buys a slinky for Rachel, but she's still mad at him. He bought presents for everyone. A photoframe from Ben to his parents.
He's a bit obsessive about the things on Rachel's quick list.

Rachel & Monica: Are broke and tip the mailman, the super, the newspaper delivery guy with cookies instead of money.
Ross breaks the heating and he says to really tip the super with money to fix it quicker (it's hot). But it turned out the super liked the cookies.

Rachel:  She makes a quick list about Ross (He's whiny, obsessive, insecure, gutless, never seize the day and he uses too much gel in his hair). She feels better, but he doesn't.

Phoebe: Sees the pictureframe Ross bought and says it's her dad(the frameguy). She talks to her grandmother about it. She finds out where her father lives (he's not a fmous tree surgeon, but he's a pharmacist) and she goes there with Chandler & Joey, but she hesitates (a long time) to go in so the boys buy Christmasgifts at the gasstation.

The One With The List - S2E08
Chandler gets a new computer. Ross is depressed about having to chose between Julie and Rachel. Chandler suggests they make a list of pros and cons, which somehow never makes it past the cons. Ross choses Rachel, but then she finds the list and decides she doesn't want to be with Ross anymore. Monica's finds a new job creating Thanksgiving recipes for Mockolate, a synthetic chocolate substitute.

Joey: Nothing much happens to him.

Chandler: Gets a laptop where he writes the list on. He has trouble printing it out at first.

Ross: Tells the boys he kissed Rachel. Only Joey asks "Tongue", "Yeah", "Cool".
Is in doubt about Rachel and Julie. Chandler advices to make a list (on his computer).
He decides to break up with Julie. He tries to get Rachel back without success.

Rachel: Tells the girls Ross kissed her.
She finds out about the list and gets really mad at Ross. He tries to convince her by calling the radio station, but after Rachels tells the station what Ross did, they don't want to play his song anymore.

Monica: Doesn't find a job. She finds a job testing out Macholate and making up recipes for Thanksgiving. But it's not healthy (and not very good) so she loses the job again. She gets a check for her trouble.

Phoebe: Phoebe organises the story about the kiss. They want to know all the details and she asks a lot of questions.
She writes a song about a love triangle in which Ross (Neil) must decide even though she made him up he must decide.

In the season finale, they end their relationship when they realize that unlike Monica, Richard does not want children.

The One Where Ross Finds Out - S2E07
Chandler realizes he's put on some weight, so he agrees to let Monica be his personal fitness trainer. The results are great, but Monica is a bit too intense for Chandler's liking. Phoebe's dating a guy she really likes, but is perplexed that they haven't had sex yet. Ross and Julie plan to get a cat together. Rachel has her first real date since finding out about Ross' feelings for her. She spends the whole date obsessing about Ross and Julie, and drinking too much wine. While drunk, she leaves Ross a message saying she's over him. The next morning, Ross retrieves his messages while at Rachel's apartment. Confronted with the truth at such an inconvenient time, Ross can't deal with it and leaves. Later, they argue, and Ross says it's too late, because he's with Julie now; he leaves again. However, he comes right back and kisses her.

Joey: Phoebe tells him that Scott and her had sex. Conclusion: "So he got you beg to sleep with, got you say he never has to call you again and he got you think this is all a great idea? This man is my God."

Chandler: He complains that a woman at a party passed through him. Phoebe tells him she also loses her confidence when she gains a little weight. He starts working out with Monica as his coach. It's before work, after work, during work. He wants to stop but can't 'cause Monica needs this project while being unemployed. He suggests to put their money together and buy her a restaurant.
He doesn't want to workout anymore. He kinda likes that last pound. He says he admires Monica because she has so much energy while she's unemployed and doesn't have a boyfriend.

Ross: He and Julie are getting a cat. He and Monica had a cat while growing up: Fluffy Miauwington
After finding out, he doesn't get a cat. He confronts Rachel, they get a fight, but then he comes back and kisses her.

Rachel: She's moving on from Ross. She goes out with Michael (set up by Monica), but thinks about Ross and Julie's cat all the time. It was a bad date. During the date she calls Ross's answering machine in a drunk mood. And she's saying "I'm over you." That's how Ross finds out about her crush.

Monica: She is still unemployed and is dying to work on a project. So she helps (to the insane) Chandler to workout and lose weight.

Phoebe: She goes out with Scott several times, but he doesn't have sex with her.
